Itinerary

  • Day 1 - London

    • Arrive in London where you will be met by your ECE programme manager at the airport and escorted to your coach for the transfer to your accommodation.
    • Visit the magnificent Windsor Castle, one of the Queen's many residences but believed to be her favourite.
    • Dinner in a local restaurant.
    • Overnight in 3 star London area hotel.
  • Day 2 - London

    • Breakfast to be served at your hotel.
    • Enjoy a London orientation with your ECE programme manager including a stop at Buckingham Palace to experience the music and colour of the Changing of the Guard.
    • Take a cruise up the River Thames, enjoying the sights of central London.
    • Lunch in the shadows of London's famous attractions.
    • Visit one of London's truly iconic landmarks, the Tower of London. View the Crown Jewels, climb the White Tower, chat to the Beefeaters and see the legendary ravens who watch over Tower Green. Legend says that the kingdom and the Tower will fall if the six resident ravens ever leave the fortress.

  • Day 3 - London

    • Breakfast to be served at your hotel.
    • Take a fascinating guided tour of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Visit the theatre exhibition and learn about Shakespeare's life in London.

    • Soar above London on the London Eye to gain a bird's eye view of one of the greatest capital cities in the world and the district of Westminster below.

  • Day 4 - London to Nottingham

    • Breakfast to be served at your hotel.
    • Go behind the scenes of the Harry Potter films with a visit to the Warner Brothers Studio where the famous books were brought to life! Lunch to be served in a local restaurant
    • Transfer to Nottingham and get your picture taken with the world's most famous outlaw, the legendary Robin Hood.

  • Day 5 - Nottingham to York

    • Breakfast to be served at your hotel.
    • Enter Robin Hood's world and learn the basics of archery with the aid of a fully qualified instructor. Surprise yourself by hitting the target within minutes! Nothing compares to the silent precision of knocking the arrow, drawing back the bow and witnessing the flight of this ancient weapon.

    • Enjoy a walking orientation with your Programme Manager through the shambles, the tiny atmospheric cobbled streets for which the historic city of York is famed.

  • Day 6 - York to Stirling

    • Breakfast to be served at your hotel.
    • Visit Alnwick Castle, a wonderful stately home in the Northumbrian countryside, used as the location for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films.
    • Lunch at the Castle.
    • Enjoy a stroll around the magnificent Castle gardens.
    • Continue north crossing the border into Scotland.
    • Dinner and overnight in a 3 star hotel in the Stirling area.
  • Day 7 - Stirling to Loch Ness

    • Breakfast to be served at your hotel.
    • Learn about Braveheart's fight for freedom at the William Wallace Monument in Stirling. Discover the medieval town of Stirling - once regarded as the most strategically important town in Scotland. It was at Stirling Bridge that Braveheart - William Wallace – out manoeuvred the English army and inspired the idea of an independent Scotland. The heart of the ancient town still survives today and gives Stirling its distinctive and historic appearance.

    • Delve into the myth of Nessie, the famous Loch Ness monster on a cruise across the lake.

  • Day 8 - St. Andrews

    • Travel to the beautiful town of Pitlochry in the central highlands
    • Meet a real Scottish highlander and learn about the history of Scottish clans and rivalry in a fully interactive workshop.

    • This afternoon visit the medieval town of St Andrews, most famously the home of golf and home to the oldest university in Scotland (600 years), attended by Prince William.

  • Day 9 - Edinburgh

    • In the morning visit Edinburgh Castle perched atop the crags of an ancient volcano, Castle Rock, right in the centre of the city.

  • Day 11 - Stratford-upon-Avon

    • Transfer to the town of Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of England's most famous playwright, William Shakespeare.

    • Visit Shakespeare's Birthplace and see how this literary legend was born and raised.

  • Day 12 - Warwick and Oxford

    • Spend the afternoon in "the city of dreaming spires", Oxford, famous for its university.

  • Day 13 - Stonehenge & Winchester
