France

City of Light and the Loire

Day 1

Start your day with a panoramic guided tour of Paris taking in the sights of this most beautiful city. In the afternoon take a cruise on the river Seine and see Paris from a different perspective before heading to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a bird’s eye view of France’s capital.

 

 

Day 2

This morning discover one of the world’s largest museums and art galleries otherwise known as the Louvre. See the Mona Lisa and a massive collection of art, sculpture, archaeology and objets d’art. Continue to the palace of the Sun King, Louis XIV at Versailles to view the incredible Hall of Mirrors and the fabulous gardens and their fountains.

Day 3

Today is a day of fun and distraction either at Disneyland Paris or the Asterix theme park. Watch Disney or Asterix characters come to life and enjoy the white-knuckle rides or more gentle attractions for those of a quieter disposition. 

Day 4

Head out of Paris today to discover the Loire valley including Blois or Orleans and a visit to its largest and most famous castle, the Chateau de Chambord. This impressive building was originally built just as a hunting lodge for Francois 1 but it was developed by further French kings including Louis XIV.

Normandy Express

 
Day 1 
 

Arrive early morning into St Malo and travel to see the impressive tidal island of Mont St Michel to discover its fascinating history dating back to the 6th century. Vist the Abbey and lose yourself in its winding streets. Travel on to Bayeux to see the famous tapestry. 

Day 2

This morning visit the Caen memorial museum dedicated to world peace and covering the D-day landings in detail. After lunch here, travel on to Rouen and see the magnificent cathedral.

 

 

 

 

Day 3

En route to Paris, visit incredible Versailles and its gardens – home to the Sun King, Louis XIV then on into Paris and a panoramic tour of this most beautiful and impressive city. 

 

 

Day 4

Board your riverboat for a cruise on the Seine this morning to see Paris from a different perspective. In the afternoon, enter the Louvre, one of the world’s largest museums and art galleries and enjoy a guided tour of its highlights including the Mona Lisa. 

Day 5

Today Les Invalides awaits – burial place of Napoleon Bonaparte and museum to the military history of France. Finish your programme with a trip up the Eiffel Tower for the best views of Paris.
