International Science Event
From the organisers of the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF – www.liysf.org.uk) comes a unique programme for students aged 15-17 years old who are thinking of a possible future in science. Travel to London and participate in this international science event. Start your journey as promising scientists on a discovery programme to take a look behind the scenes of some of Europe’s most exciting cities and scientific centres. Successful completion of the programme is rewarded by certificate, but this only goes a little way to detail the experience you will have had.

Learning Outcomes
Suitable for students aged 15 - 17 years old
- You will engage in an exciting and dedicated series of workshops and site visits over a 2 week period alongside other international students that will develop the practical skills necessary for your future as a modern young scientist
- Build on the vital skills of scientific inquiry and investigation using practical and recognized techniques gained throughout your stay
- Increase and maximise your familiarity with the precision and accurate use of scientific language, formulae and equations
- You will gain awareness of the impact the sciences make on your life, the lives of others, the environment and upon society
- Realise and recognise the role of creativity and inventiveness in the development of the sciences
- Learn the skills required to present scientific research for your future oral and poster-board research projects
- Acquire the expertise required to conduct Marine Research and add to your scientific tool box
- Be empowered to take part in decision making on social, moral, ethical, economic and environmental issues and express opinions based on sound understanding
- This program will help build the foundation for more advanced learning and a future career in the sciences and technologies

LIYSF Opening Ceremony & Principle Lecture

A Blue Badge Guide - an expert on England's capital, will guide you through London's many world famous sites, attractions and buildings.
Day 3
Interactive Activity visit to the Science Museum
Take part in the interactive Science Museum object hunt and quiz whilst exploring the historic collections, awe-inspiring galleries and inspirational exhibitions.Specialist Science Lecture
Attend a LIYSF lecture given by a top academic speaking at LIYSF.
Day 4
Science Presentation Workshop
Learn the skills to present scientific research, for both poster presentation or short TED/FameLab style presentation.EDF Energy London Eye

Attend the LIYSF Student Topics Presentation evening and see 10 international science students present their research to a large audience in short FameLab style presentations.
Day 5
Forensic Science Workshop
Bringing 21st Century Forensic Science workshop, including activities, such as fingerprinting using magnetic powder and black ink, taking footprints and castings and the analysis of hair and fibres. Learn all the forensic techniques and report your findings on an incident report.Natural History Museum
Explore the wonders at the Natural History Museum, full of hundreds of exciting interactive exhibits.
